This year the season will be made up of five regular season events and one special event.
Race 1 -Daytona (D) Race 4 -Darlington (N)
Race 2 -Talladega (D) Race 5 –Indianapolis (D)
Race 3 -Charlotte (N) All Star –Bristol (N)
Regular Season Races
All regular season race threads will open to entries on February 26th and close to entries on September 9th.
Each race is hosted at a specific track. Pictures must be taken at that track.
Once you have posted your entry you are not allowed to make changes or take it down and reenter at a later date. So make sure you have it right.
Races will be scored in three segments. Segment 1 will be based on qualifying, Segment 2 will be based on a fan vote, and Segment 3 will be based on the painters vote
The All Star Race
The All Star event will open to entries September 17th and close to entries November 5th.
You can enter up to six cars. You may reenter your five regular season cars and one new car. You may make changes to your regular season cars from feedback you received during the regular season.
On November 5th we will have a painters vote to set the order for cars to be seeded in a ladder. Elimination rounds will be conducted using a fan vote until we are down to the winner.
Scoring
Points for segment one will be awarded based on the order entries appear in the race thread. To be fair since points are being awarded you cannot post an empty thread and add pictures later, edit your post once it has been posted, or take down your post and enter again later. Points deductions or loss of Segment one scoring may be put in place if you must alter or repost your paint scheme.
When scoring for the painter vote, remember you are scoring the best not your favorite. Cars should be scored on the following factors only, Level of difficulty, execution, and how well the paint scheme represents the sponsor. To submit a scorecard for the painter vote you must be entered in that race. By submitting a scorecard your car will receive a bonus which will help its score.
Points will be rewarded for each segment. The amount of points handed out will be determined by how many cars enter that race. The first and second segment will be worth the same amount of points as the number of cars entered. For example if eight cars enter a race. First will be worth eight points, second will be worth seven, down to last place being worth one. For the third and final round “the painters round” points will be double. If eight cars enter a race, first will be worth sixteen points etc.
Points earned from the three segments will be added together the car with the most points wins. Season points will be awarded the same way segment points are with the addition one “1” bonus point per segment win.
Teams
There are to be no more than three cars per team.
Sponsors
You may pick any sponsors you wish.
Two painters from different teams cannot enter the same sponsor for the same race.
You cannot use the same sponsor as a primary sponsor more than once.
Try to avoid sponsor conflicts with your teammates, for example avoid submitting a Pepsi car if your team uses Coke as a secondary sponsor or if a teammate is using Coke.
Threads
Race Threads- Each race will have its own thread. Only entries are to be posted in race threads.
Media Center- All other posts are to be made in this thread, it is the chat thread for the season.
Team Threads- Team threads will be allowed but they must be created by the team. Please respect other team’s threads and use the media center thread if you wish to communicate with a member from another team.
TBD - The following is to be determined based on participation…
Multiple series- As we have had in the past we will split the field if we have enough cars. This will allow painters of different skill levels to get the recognition of a race win.
Awards Banquet- In the past we have given out awards for best paint scheme, most improved, etc.
Team Points Standings- We need at least three teams of somewhat equal size.
Overall
Please be respectful, we are all doing this for fun. Help each other out, give constructive feedback and share tips and tricks. We all want to get better. Anyone that is rude to any member, bashes someone’s paint scheme, or is just plain trolling will be asked to leave.
Thank you and have a wonderful 2017 season!!!
