Let's discuss the Pure Michigan 400 (as well as the truck race and Xfinity race if you want)!
Here are my ratings on all the packages this year so far: 2015 package (majority of races): C "Low downforce" package (Kentucky): A- "High drag" package (Indy, Michigan): D
Even at Michigan, I think low downforce would have been the way to go. As seen at Kentucky, you could really RACE with that package. Right now, the dirty air is even worse than usual so you can't even get the pull that would make this package work. It just seems like a fail in my book. Please never use it again, NASCAR.
Even though Kyle Busch won the truck race, their packaged seem to work a lot better.
As for the Xfinity race at Mid-Ohio, how about that bump and run Regan Smith put on Alex Tagliani?! I loved it. IndyCar and sports car fans thought it was a totally dirty move, but they don't realize that NASCAR is different! Lol.

2015 Base and Chase Package: A C for me aswell. High speeds, winner variety, but little green flag passing. Which I hate. Kentucky Package: I give this a strong A. It allowed drivers to finally drive the cars, and make moves that haven't been seen in years. Indy/Michigan II Package: F. NASCAR failed on this one. It worked somewhat in the Xfinity race at Indy, but that's it. The racing has been almost like the 2015 Base and Chase package. And biggest of all, it's raising in-car temps to 150 degrees and above, which is ridiculous. (And look at those spoilers!)

I absolutly hate this high downforce package. The racing seems even worse than what it was before, and if appears that the leader just checks out on the rest of the field if their isn't.
My main concern with it is the temps inside the car. The #13's onboard thermomiter showed 155 degrees within the first 30 laps of the race! If they stick with this, which I really hope they don't, expect to see many drivers in the care center getting fluids afterwards.

Now as for the Xfinity move by Smith, I loved it. Of course road course only fans hate it, because it's unnatural to them since it's a penalty in the races they watch. But hey, that's NASCAR.

I can't wait to hear the drivers' comments on this package after they get back from getting fluids at the care center. I'm guessing they won't be positive! This is pretty embarrassing to watch. I guess it's nice to see poor-handling cars since the regular package is like driving an IndyCar. However, it's not making the racing better like at Kentucky.

I gave it a C. 1) I'm biased 2) It's trial and error. Nascar tried it on tracks that are different. Michigan has all these grooves whereas Indy is just one groove. One line around the track. They tried. They failed and they'll learn from it.
