7pm pacific would work best for me In other words, 10pm ET. I guess that does seem a little late. Not sure how our locations break down which is something to think about. So 6PST/9EST might work the best? I'm not sure how that fits my work schedule but we can work around it.

I work nights so 10p EST doesn't work at all for me. 9p is doable but 7 or 8 would be much better. Would leaving it open longer be an option? Say opening it Friday morning and closing it between 10p and midnight. Or flip that, open it late Friday, close it saturday morning.

FYI threads open Friday and close Sunday. 7 or 8 EST is pretty early on the west coast, 4 or 5 (when I think I will still be at work). It might be the direction we end up going since I think I am the only one on the west coast anymore. As far as closing threads I am thinking 12pm PST will work alright. That would give me enough time to get the scorecards set up.

Welp..im an idiot. Guess I should read before I reply. If threads are open basically all weekend I should be able to get my entry posted without issue.
I keep hearing about the Inside Line format, I wasn't around for that, How does it work?

I keep hearing about the Inside Line format, I wasn't around for that, How does it work? Basically, we had one series with multiple classes. If you were 1st-5th in points, you were in the black class. 6th-10th were the blue class, 11th-15th were the red class, and everyone 16th on back were in the yellow class. Your class could change from week to week depending on where you were in the points. Everyone entered the same race and in the same thread, but each each week we had black, blue, red, and yellow class winners. So even though all painters were in one series competing for one championship, there were incentives to keep everyone, even those at the back of the pack, engaged. Contrasting this is the format we used last season: two separate series with their own race threads, winners, and champions. The Sunoco and Target series really didn't have anything to do with each other. Hope that helps clears things up a bit for you.

So how we would break down the series would go like this... we have 16 signed up so far so the top 8 in points would be in the Snap on series. 9th - 16th would be in the Exide series. For Daytona we will let you run which ever sticker you want. The points after Daytona would set who is in which series for race 2. Once we get to race 7 we will lock the two series. And race out the last 3 races to crown our two champions. Hopefully thus will give us a good battle for middle of the pack to see who gets into which series.

Ok, I'm a little confused on the whole break down. I totally understand the fact that top 8 will be in Snap On series, and the rest will be in the Exide Series, what I don't understand fully is how these will be determined. I had talked with 714 about some stuff in private messages, and he told me that Pre Season testing really didn't matter for scoring, it basically was just a blank test car with your number. The order which we entered into the thread would be how we qualified for sponsor draft. But then I read on here that the scoring for Daytona (pre season testing) would set what series everyone is in. So are we supposed to make a nice car for testing, or not? Maybe I'm thinking wrong, but the schedule clearly shows Testing @ Daytona and the First race @ Phoenix.

So from my understanding, if we're doing things the way NTG:IL was, then the Exide (or the lower tier) painters enter with the Snap-on (or upper tier) painters?
Just my opinion, idk if the "board" has discussed this idea yet but what if for the first 7 races, the series it just all the same, all 16 painters are in the same point system. Then, race 7, we cut the field in half, and the top 8 battle for the title and the lower 8 battle for the second-tier title. I think if that's the way it is, it'll be a lot clearer to some as how we're dividing the series for race 7.

It will be decided on the results from phoenix. When I said it was Daytona was just force of habit, the first race is Phoenix. I need to update the score for preseason part, originally it was going to be a mock race but it was changed to qualifying setting the draft order for simplicity. Also giving more time for painters to focus on other things besides a test car, also test cars events have had issues with scoring in the past. So make what ever kind of car you want for testing, Only thing that matters is when you get your entry posted so you can pick your sponsor.

We want to encourage the efforts of everyone, so giving the painters 8th-16th a chance for a race win also does that. I also think going 7 races with one series would cause guys in the back to burn out not running top five. Also two series would be more confusing if it was only for three races IMO. If it was less that 12 I would agree but we have 16 atm. For the guys in points 6th-9th they will be more than aware of the series split. It gives them something to work on against each other moving into race 7.
