I don't get the whole points system for the scorecard underneath the positions on what paint schemes finished in the top5?, I get the positions of the paint schemes. I saw how your guys did it, when I see the previous seasons, when I wasn't in the PBC. Last year you just placed the cars in a finishing order. This year you will score each car in four categories which will give you a score. That score value is what sets your finishing order. Also its not just for the top 5, its for every car. I only used five cars in my example. If we have 20 cars entered in a race you would score all 20. So, we just have to give them a score, and that will set the finishing order after the race?

Well you dont just give them a score, but yes the score is what sets your order.

Alright, I know you guys are all pissed at me (at least Hartwig and Random anyway), so I'm just gonna set the record straight:
Yes I did copy that scheme. After last year when schemes that were coming from my head were constantly being downscored for being too repetitive, I decided to look at Google and Facebook for inspiration. That's how I came across that scheme. I did feel bad about copying that, and it felt like I was plagarizing a paper at school (which could lead you to get dropped from that class). We had this same issue with Energy last season when he copied the base from Thermite's Gatorade car, and everyone just moved on like it was no one's business, and Energy is still doing OK as far as I can see!
Like 714 said, originality and creativity are key points when it comes to scoring, and I applaud him for adding the no plagarism rule for this season, because we all know I'm not the only one guilty of doing something like this (I'm looking at you, Codrock).
Anyways, after all the controversy and drama that has been caused for this race, I've decided to revise my entry for this race - I took down the offending car and a brand new car will be taking its place.
I'd like to apologize to 714, Thermite, and pretty much every friend I've made while doing this. I'd also like to thank Thermite, 714, as well as Spud for sticking behind me when others didn't want to. If it means I'm gonna lose your trust, friendship, or respect (as Hartwig has pretty much stated), then so be it. Might as well change my name to Truth444 for all I care.

Well 1) Thank you for admitting it, I'm not all too pissed. I still have a ton of respect since come on, just look at the quality of your schemes. Your painting skills are just insane. And 2) I think we could make that into a challenge. Find a scheme you like online and remake it. I think that could be a fun idea even though we'd have an over load of Guy Driggers remakes.

Kane, I just want to clear the air with you. I still respect you, I still think you are a very talented painter, and you're still one of the best on this game. But knowing that we have had people, and especially your teammate do something like this in the past, it was very hard for me to believe you would do something like that. And I just thought it was the Coke car, but then come to find out that a few of your cars from last season were copy cats as well, that's what I was shocked about.
I can totally understand your frustration about not having creative ideas to paint, and all of your cars not getting scored as high as they used to because everyone has become accustomed to your specific style, so you wanted to have fresh ideas. We've all been there! We've all searched google for new and better ideas. Hell I have about 30 different pictures saved on my computer, and I use bits and pieces of them for inspiration quite often. But where I believe the lines get crossed is when you completely copy a car, and change nothing but your sponsors. That's when it becomes unfair. You say that everyone just allowed Energy to do it last year and swept it under the rug. I for one was hard on Energy last year for doing it, I even copied his car of the copy cat car just to prove a point. Since then I haven't seen him doing it any longer.
I look at this as a learning lesson for everyone, veterans and rookies alike. Use cars for inspiration, but don't copy cars. I see the new rules are that cars have to be 33% different. In my opinion, that isn't even enough. You could consider color changes and sponsors different and call it good, but in reality, the base scheme would still a copy cat. Anyhow, I'm not looking to start a war, and I'm not dumping on any one person. I'm glad that you were man enough to admit you made a mistake, and hopefully we can move on as a group and move past this!

Just a quick clarification on scoring. Do we score teammates?

Do we put our scorecards in after everyone has sumbit their paint schemes in the race thread section, or do we have to send it in a private message to you(714). Also, can we vote for yourselves or just everyone else besides yourself?

So now that everyone should have time working with this scoring method. What are your honest opinions?
This method while time consuming allows the best feedback for painters to improve based on the scores they receive. They can see with the breakdowns on scores where they need to improve. It also makes sure the people are scoring fairly, looking at each scheme and doing more than just setting an order based on personal opinions.
Now, we can go back to the more simple, place the cars in an order and call it a day style we did last year. Only issue I see with that is it would be hard to tell if people are scoring in the spirit this contest was designed to foster. Purely going off of what they like versus the technical side of creating a paint scheme or playing favorites or down scoring on purpose.
Either way is ok with me. This series has always been by the painters for the painters. If a majority wants a simplified scoring method and/or to get away from scoring painters technical skills and move towards personal preference let it be known.

I like this new format, to put it simply. I feel like it rewards the more technical schemes, which is a good thing. Even under the old scoring system, I held sponsor decals and scheme difficulty in the same regard as the base scheme and overall appearance. This new system is just a formalized way of doing the same thing.

Actually this system is the same system we used for NTG'11.

So I have had five painters turn in scorecards and all but one have not followed the outline...
Use a table to post your scorecard. Leave the cars in qualifying order. Make sure to save the break down of your scores in case anyone asks. Based on what I have seen so far I have some questions on why my car was scored the way it was, i'm sure others will also.
